Sri Balaji University, Pune (SBUP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pimpri-Chinchwad Smart City Ltd. (PCSCL), forging a strategic partnership to promote innovation and sustainable urban development. This collaboration aims to bridge academia and governance by enabling joint efforts in knowledge exchange, citizen engagement, research, and skill development. As part of the MoU, SBUP will contribute to PCSCL’s Smart Sarathi platform through awareness campaigns and student involvement. The university will also support R&D in smart technologies, offering students practical exposure via projects and internships. The partnership includes capacity-building programs focused on IoT, data analytics, and cybersecurity, and will explore solutions for traffic, waste, and public safety.

The MoU was signed at SBUP’s Rathathinathammal Auditorium in the presence of senior officials. On the same occasion, SBUP launched its Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED Cell) to support grassroots innovation and align with initiatives like “Startup India” and “Make in India.” With its strong academic foundation and 100% placement record, SBUP is committed to industry-relevant, tech-driven education. PCSCL, under PCMC, drives citizen-centric smart city projects. Together, both institutions aim to empower youth and create a model for inclusive, tech-enabled urban transformation.
